In this February 2006 presentation, Amy Klekotka, Maureen Hawes and Stephanie Pavlis look at the factors needed to create systems change and break down barriers to learning for all students.
The presentation profiles how teams, working together, can overcome disproportionality.
“As much as groups, communities acquire high levels of knowledge and experience on their own, increasing the interaction with other groups across and within education creates opportunities for learning beyond traditional boundaries and encourages learning as a system. It becomes more than what we can do for “our” kids, but rather what we can do together for “ALL” kids.
The hope was for cross-disciplinary teams to share and use what they learn to inform each other’s work and to consider the impact of their practice on the larger education system.”
